Good time to sell?

Are we approaching the peak time to sell on abay?
With Xmas in a month or so and colder weather will the next few weeks be the time to list jackets for sale?
There has been increased activity recently as folk sell off any number of ALC Irvins and the odd higher quality sheepskin.
What happens though when the 'have to have it before Xmas' issue arises?
I have had success in previous years in January when you expect money to be in short supply.

I got $391 for a BR Tanker two weeks ago. That was a pleasant surprise. No joy on the rarer embroidered L-2? Might just try the BR B-15C Mod and see how that goes next..

Yes, possibly John.
I have an original AN-J-3 and a GW A-1 that I'll be trying on EBay soon.

this time of year this year is real hit and miss. Some nice items selling for nothing, not reaching low reserves, etc. to some strong sales. Its seems to be a buyers market now. Looking at the completed listings is very telling. Some other aviation related item categories have come way down in price to where collectors are not selling. I guess it depends.

I've always had very good luck this time of year. I remember selling a fairly basic enamel AAF ring a couple years back that was worth maybe $80-$100 for $375. The lady who bought it was extremely happy to have won it for her husband who loved "Bomber Stuff" for a Christmas gift.

I always look at size vs price (I have to - I'm a 44 or 46, and so are a lot of other guys :/ ). Smaller sizes aren't so rare, bigger ones in less demand. So a good time to sell 44s or 46s might not "lift all boats."

Jackets are definitely seasonal. But...we jsut finished "black Friday" and "cyber Monday". People need to wait for the next paychecks to start shopping again

Yeah, you might think of waiting till after Xmas when all the jacket heads have had time to return their presets and buy what they wish they'd gotten- more jackets!

Lord knows my fam ain't planning on directly helping to contribute further to my obsession

Cold weather brings on a little bit better sales, but if the item is collectable, I usually don't have any problem selling during the warmer months.

Hope so. When I get the chance, I'm going to sell my ELC Star in a 42 - haven't worn it this year. That's usually a good size.
We'll see,
Dave

December is a great time to sell, I put up a handful of items that seem to be going much higher than what I researched them to go. I have had Wives, Sons, Daughters, and Grandchildren buying in the past from what a guy puts on his Ebay watch list. Think about that, it's so hard to pick out a great gift that someone actually wants.

If anyone here wants something from my Ebay store, 33% off regular price all month starting today. Of course I'll probably put on another sale some time soon, so the VLJ 33% offer is discounted from the regular price regardless of my sale discount. All auction style listings excluded.
