Goat A-2

The shape of the collar, pocket flaps and general construction is similar to Cable, but the absence of a throat latch and the very late War Conmar zipper suggest a non issued jacket. The goat has developed a nice patina. It appears to be a size 38 or a small 40.

I remember him posting a few times just after he joined. That jacket looks very like a WW2 era Windward civi A-2 that I bought several years ago. Looks like it's been relined (horribly !).

I'd spotted that jacket already and really liked the look of it, but the price is a little high for me. I didn't know the seller was a member here, but I would guess he's too busy to read and post, as he didn't chime in when I mentioned one of the jackets that he was putting into production a few months ago.

The guy's writing is a little strange sometimes, both in his blog and his e-mails. It seems he moves in similar circles to JC...a world unto itself, I guess. But nice if you can make a living out of your hobby.

I bought a jacket off him a couple of years ago. He was really helpful and knowledgeable, and went out of his way to find something that fit me. I'd certainly buy from him again.
