Great set of pics, seen the last one before. Of course they couldn't resist draping him in belts of .50 cal, which I don't believe happened a lot outside of publicity pics.

However, seeing all the gear they had to wear just to keep from freezing to death makes me appreciate all the more what these kids did all those years ago.

Its crazy !! i was just thinking , how much it has cost me so far to obtain all that gear shown in the pics , and those guys just had it thrown at them !!!!

wondered myself ??? Could be anything and any answer would only be summising i suppose

His helmet has a number and his name tag so wonder if has something to do with a piece of gear being assigned to a specific crew or squadron?

Thought id missed somthing then Grant !! I have seen a few pairs of the A9 gloves with numbers painted on for sale. As for the reason ?????

Have seen them on the back ,side and front Grant . I dont actually have an example to show , but yes it was done
