Someone mentioned on this site, a conditioner or chemical that does not fix the problem, but does neutralize it.

Is that something BK can do? What is the cost for that? Would that diminish the value of the jacket since its not really an original?

Changing the back can be done, but it's difficult and time consuming operation and perhaps costly.
It's not very hard to find the same kind of leather, but color will be different,
that's why re-dyeing is necessary

I suppose that adding a new piece will diminish the value of the jacket
but after re-dyeing it will be impossible to see that there was a repair made.

I wanted to keep this jacket for myself, because it had an excellent fit, but had to let go
kept the measurements though and when the dough will allow,
will have one made for me,
