Vic,
I sold all of mine, they suffer from the delusion that thicker leather is better, I disagree. The buttons were also a bugger to fasten.
(Still looking for an early version Leather Togs a1 in Tatanka Brown though.)
still have my freewheelers hb caboose [pleated back], and I am still impressed with it. that I purchased it in damn near dead stock condition, at 1/2 of the original price was probably a lucky stroke.
hahahhaha, in fact, I wore the caboose this morning. patience is the key to the freewheelers hides, as mine is only now beginning to break in, and I might add, beautifully.
What is the history of this jacket pattern? What year did it first appears in production?.After seeing some pictures online of different angles and parts like sleeves It looks to my eyes like the design is almost identical/very very close to Schott's Perfecto jacket (according to Wikipedia first model appeared in production in 1928). Main difference are materials, lack of exposed zippers (front and sleeves) as it's exposing buttons instead while zipper is hidden underneath. and belt not being the default part of jacket but belt loops are present. Is there any relation between these designs? I'm asking as I cannot find any info anywhere online on history of this clothing piece and no one seems discuss similarities between it and Perfecto jackets.
