I'm curious, what mouton color is that? It looks very similar to the fur we sent to Shawn for the SkyKing and I'm wondering if he decided to get some mouton in that color.

It’s the old style reddish brown

On FL you asked about the length and I think its fine. The rise at the back seems to be related to the hem measurement being close to your body. It may loosen up with wear.

Looks much better that version one.

Hello everyone, the 55j14 that I ordered arrived four days ago and what to say, Shaw and Five Star’s staff did an excellent job. The jacket fits me well, it is of course quite stiff here and there, surely in some time it will loosen up a bit. The leather is nice, It is stitched well, the heavy polyester lining feels very good, I had to go for acrylic knittings; even if I would have preferred woolen ones but they are ok. The only two small issues that I have with the jacket are about the collar, which in my opinion is a bit too tight and the bi-swing back, that sometimes doesn’t came back to place properly, like in the pic down here.

I must specify that those two issues maybe aren’t Five Star’s fault, but the contract’s; I don’t know, since this is my first 55j15, maybe with time and some wearing the collar will loosen up and the back will stay in place.
Last but not least, a quite terrible fit pic in the elevator, that sadly is the best I can do for now. And yes, it is a black G-1, I know that some fellow members will not like it but this is my first Five Star jacket and it was a bit of an experiment; I swear that if Shawn makes a RW 27752 I will respect the contract’s colors

I had similar issues with mine, but if you go take a look at the previous page I posted some recent fit pictures. Wear it lots and it will all go away. Mine fits me like a glove now.

Five Star Leather, weird armpit wear, advice appreciated

Hello everyone, I’m not sure if anyone else has had a similar experience, but I just wanted some advice regarding the following leather wear pattern on the under arm and armpit areas of my five star g-1. This is the only place in the jacket that appears to wear away; very odd. I have a theory...

PSA, please be advised that Five Star's normal goatskin will fade like this...
Please ask Shawn for leather that will not 'faux' age if you do not wish for such an effect.

Please note that the issue with my jacket was a mistake of type of leather used; and not an issue with the quality of 5 star hides.
So, everyone please be sure to tell Shawn that you wish for non-distressed leather.
Shawn is taking responsibility for his mistake and is correcting it.
5 star service from 5 star. I could not ask for more.

another jacket from @Shawn Ali on the way ...

i already ordered:
2 M 422 - sold one because simply didn't fir - was the first jacket i ever ordered and messed up the measurements
6 A2 - Doniger, Werber, 2 in HH, 1 Steerhide, 3 goat - 1 of the HH for my wife sold 2 of them coz of the fit (again i messed up the measurements) and down now to 3 A2's which belong to me and the other one which belongs to my wife

Ordered a G1 3 days ago with custom dimensions, just got pics of the finished jacket which looks awesome and cannot wait to get the jacket in my hands

will keep you posted

and - just to keep "the brain" warm a flight helmet ... - will come handy when i buy my P51D

After 2 Werks in the custom the Jacket from shawn is arrived. It is an 55j14 , Looks Great .also the Handmate patch Black cat catalina is also arrived, its now time to sew on .

Question regarding fit, as I have never tried a G-1: should the pit-to-pit be similar to the pit-to-pit of an A-1? Or do the gussets and/or different armholes allow for a smaller measurement?
