ELC Rough Wear 27752

Hi everyone,

Good to finally stick a post up here after many nights reading about all the different makers and contracts available.

I decided to pick up an Eastman RW 27752 back in September and I’ve been wearing it most days since. I’ve had the whole post purchase doubt and put it up for sale several times since but have stuck with it.

That being said I am also now on the lookout for an ELC Dubow or .50cal in a 44 UK based before I pull the trigger and buy new to have alongside this jacket if anyone is selling!

Some pics from where I first got the jacket and visited a couple of USAAF bases in Norfolk.

Sorry for the pictures not attaching properly!

Some photos of the jacket as of today. Things I have learnt so far, I wish the back was a touch longer on me and an extra bit of room pit to pit would have been perfect. I did try a 46 but the back was like a tent on me.

Hi
Welcome to VLJ …
If I might ask … why the initial reservations about the jacket ? What made you think about selling it . It looks good on you .
Just my over active mind and quite a different style compared to what I have worn the last few years. Coming around to it more and more though!

The more you wear it , the more it will become your “go to” jacket and the better it will look on you. As we always say “Wear the piss out of it !” Get use to wearing it in the rain , wearing it with an under layer or sweater, wearing it as a fashion statement or wearing it as a utility jacket. At the end of the day roll it in a ball and throw it in the corner of your closet. If you do that, In a few months that jacket will look awesome !

Yes you are right it’s an awesome jacket and the leather and colour is so nice. Maybe I’ll pick up a D-1 then as it’s getting colder here in the UK.

Good fit, stants. With wear, the back will stretch out a a bit horizontally. However, the back may shorten, top to bottom. If that happens in time, it can be dealt with and stretched back to the original length. Over time, the sleeves will shorten due to creasing in the elbows. Yes, they too can be stretched back to the original length. Most guys don’t even notice the changes, but you seem to be “attentive”, so, now you can check and measure your new elc rw every coupla days to witness the changes.

Thanks, yes I’ve read about this and being and to stretch things back a bit if needed. The sleeves are fine and have enough to lose some length, it’s just the back as I have a fairly broad upper back and I’m 6ft tall so right on the edge of the regular fit..I looked at the extra length options but I also think it can throw the proportions off.

That's a great fit! A-2s are short in the back. Own it. IMO what looks weird is when people want to make it look longer by pulling down the knits making the jacket straight. It looks much better when the knits are pulled up a little allowing the jacket to blouse, even if it makes it even shorter.
Yes I agree with you on that one. I have found the waistband has relaxed a little bit since new but to a good point.
