ELC re-lining & knits

I had the same £300 quoted by Eastman but they also recommended Bryson! Their website looks like they know what they're doing but from the above feedback it's sounds a little disappointing. ELC much like Ken says, said that re-lining and new knits is like making a new jacket but for £300 there's a chance of picking up something on the dreaded eBay!!

They were pretty good on their communication, emailing me and ringing me to talk about stuff. The moulton they picked is gorgeous. I think they were/ are overloaded and somehow the jacket got returned incomplete by mistake. However the turnaround was several months.. I'll check, but including sending it back could of been 2-3, maybe more!

We don't repair other makers A-2s any longer, too busy in the case of Eastman or Goodwear who's jackets we have repaired in the past, and we stopped repairing Japanese made A-2s many years ago due to the excess glue used inside the jackets, this make repairs a total nightmare

I have an original WW2 Aero jacket but the knits on both cuffs and body of the jacket need replacing. Can you replace those?

Yes, but so long as you aren't in too much of a hurry to have it done

She does amazing work, has oodles of flight jacket experience and is very reasonable. UK based.
I would source the specific knit and components you want, yourself and send to her with the jacket.
Horizon Designs uk, is her company, I think...

We like to have the jacket in a physical queue, although every machinist does one repair or restoration on a Friday, these repairs are usually done rather spontaniously when one of the specialists in a particular design or job has a spare hour or two, best send it in and get in line, should be done by the end of March worst scenario Best wait for Christine who is our most experienced A-2 restoration machinist.
