Checking their website as I often do and conspicuous by its absence is the 42 pattern RAF jacket. Just the BoB model seemingly....Anyone know more?
As I have an RAF jacket, ah screw it, an Irvin it is of no real consequence but I thought I would discuss the issue here..... :)

I believe a new version of the '42 pattern is in the pipeline, so I'm sure the gap on the website will soon get filled Tim.

They can't eliminate that jacket. It's one of the best looking jackets they have. I even like it better than the B3. Who needs pockets?

Maybe it will return in the current broken grain trend that seems to be hitting all the ELC sheepskin jackets.

I have the sample. Red wool, matt outer.

It's a shame customers can't be offered a choice of wool colours as I'm not sure how popular the red wool and matt finish will be.

Watch out mate, you are starting to sound like me.
More from Gary when asked if the one off RAF jacket was for sale -

Sorry no, the jacket you ask about is not for sale. We hope to be able to offer something in the not too distant future though.

Best regards,
Gary

Well, as a matter of fact, I do. Their absence is one of the reasons for wearing my B3 instead of the Irvin, eh, RAF sheepskin jacket

Actually, I meant that more in a sarcastic way. I had a B3 and liked it very much. It fit great and I was able to wear it in -5 degree temperatures with just a T shirt underneath. Unfortunately, it shrunk something awful and it won't go around me anymore. Funny how that happens when you get older. It's just that I like the color of the sheepskin on the Irvin more than the B3. In order for me to justify buying the Irvin,, I have to convince myself that the pockets can be done away with. I think the textbooks call it rationalization. :D
