ELC damaged threads

My 4 year old ELC RW 27752 has seat belt damage. The threads are worn away at the pocket. What do you all suggest to secure the threads at this location? Should I put some clear fabric glue to keep them pulling out?
thanks.

Aileen’s leather glue will work. If possible apply it from the inside of the pocket using tooth picks to get in there. If ya apply from the outside, be sure to remove any glue that squirts out when the hides are pressed together for about an hour.

New in 62? Twin cam? I’ve owned two mgas over the years. The last being a 61 with less than 20000 original miles on it. Easy to maintain, work on, and hoot to drive.

Personally I would stay away from glue, what happens if that wears or more thread goes? Think ELC do repairs or there’s Byson Leather (if you’re in the UK) or maybe try DIY repairing? I believe there is a way to get under/inside the lining via unpicking the sleeve lining seam to gain access to inside of the shell - if you’re confident and have the thread!!!

Just to echo what Johnwayne says: if in the UK use ELC or Byson. I’ve had great repairs from both. Currently have a local tailor that’s fantastic & does work with leather … worth their weight in gold those folk .. it’s just finding them.
