How many Werbers do you have George? Recently you listed a size 38 and now this size 40. Good luck with the sale. It's one of Eastman's finenest A2s IMO and my size 42 is one of my favourite jackets.

I first bought the Sz 38 based upon the measurements, but when that was too small I took the first opportunity that came along to buy this Sz 40. But as I had mentioned in one of my earlier threads somewhere on VLJ (possibly to you), the Sz 40 is also a bit tight in the shoulders, so now I'm waiting for a Sz 42 to come along. The only thing that bugs me about this ELC repro is that the pocket flap top stitch is too close to the edges, unlike Werber's trademark pocket flaps. The thing that blows me away is that on Eastman's site, it shows an original 1933 Werber right next to their repro and you can clearly see that this detail is off between the original and their copy. Aside from that, it seems like a decent hide and a nice cut, but I wish that the War Horse had a bit more grain to it nonetheless.

BTW, I had been meaning to ask you about Duxford. How did that go? Did you get to wear the 16159, and receive the adulation for it? :D :D

You'll be waiting awhile. This is one of those repros that, like originals, only turn up in smaller sizes. Sometimes they get smaller even after you buy them - I myself own a 44 but I've outgrown it!

People want everything... ;)

I was just the second highest bidder on the Size 44 ELC 1933 Werber on Ebay that just concluded. I would have bid higher, but I think a size 44 might overshoot the desired fit on the large side. The measurements looked like they would work, but then when Andrew says that a size 42 is one of his favorites, then I get a little nervous since the 16159 that he bought from me fits him well, but was too big for me. But, that being said, if you should ever want to sell the one that you've outgrown, then please PM me! :) :)

Yes, we want a lot. I know John Chapman gets that detail done just right and I see that the Buzz Rickson 1939 Werber that HPA has for sale is also done correctly with that detail. That one seems like such a no brainer, since it's not like trying to reproduce a zipper or other piece of difficult to produce hardware. This is just stitching the flap a bit differently. But it's so obvious. Isn't it the first detail we look for when trying to figure out if an unmarked jacket is a Werber or not? Oh, well...I guess nothing it absolutely perfect, is it? :D :D
