Maureen Dunlop De Popp (1920-2012). British Air Transport Auxiliary (ATA) pilot during WW2. Trained to fly 38 different types of aircraft, including spitfires, P-51s, Wellingtons and the Mosquito, she used to ferry military aircraft from factories to operational air bases. This picture of her exiting a Fairey Barracuda, made the cover of Picture Post magazine on September 1944. Is it any wonder???
