Hey nkang,
my boots are technically known as: M1948 Boots, Service, Combat, Russet. WWII paratrooper boots had 12 vs 11 eyelets and a beveled heel to keep parachute straps from getting caught on the heels. Here's a pic of a pair of WWII issue jump boots (not mine). A lot of vintage dealers sell the M1948 as original WWII jump boots. They either don't know the difference or mark them up thinking most buyers won't know the difference. I used to own a pair of WWII jump boots but cashed in after the Band of Brothers craze. They became too valuable to wear!

Been to Currahee and the small town railroad station where at the troopers from the 101 st arrived at the beginning of training. It’s now been turned into a museum. Some pretty cool stuff.wow, those are purrrrr-Tee!
BTW, I went to a small college in North East GA and did plenty of rock climbing and rappelling off Currahee MT made known from Band of Brothers.
They are great! In addition to these, I also have their jump boots. They do run large, so I would order at least one size smaller than normal. Fantastic quality!!You can see the cordovan polish coming through in the last couple of pics. Really nice.
How are the ATF boots? I've been tempted myself as the stuff I have from them is great. But shoes/boots over the internet is always a worrying one for me.
I don't own red wing or white's, but they run large compared with other shoes/boots I have.how is the size of the 1st service boots - true to size or run large ? compare with say red wing or white's
And the finished result.
Guys,
if you think that Desert Boots are a good match to your denim and flight jacket outfit BUT find the original Clark's made boots to wide....then I could definitely recommend these beauties from Astorflex.
They come in mid and hi versions, are very well-made, with fully leather-lined interior.
The boots are made in Italy instead of Vietnam. The fit is narrower than the classic Clarks' Desert Boot, which makes them a perfect fit for me.
Best regards,
Ties
