My wife got a Duke done in Liberty, you can see the review of sorts here:

To be honest, you'd be hard pressed to work out difference between LH and VH, both are excellent in my view. The leather seems more supple than my VH ANJ3 ordered about a year ago, and even more so especially where in the photos you can see the enhanced grain. A bit squeaky (but its still new and not worked/worn in yet), I guess more uniform in colour, but thats just with my wives jacket. It does feel slightly different to the touch though less smooth and more grain if that makes sense, definitely a little more tactile and less 'shiny'.

I guess you'd be best off asking Andy/Platon, as they're the ones spec'ing the leather and the reasons for each type etc, they on holidays till late August but I'm sure if Platon is around he'll answer this.

The Liberty horsehide is the closest match to WWII leather. The second generation Liberty which is expected any day now, is supposed to be much better than the first.

The Victory horsehide is different in many ways. I hear BK will reveal the secret of what makes VHH so special in a description they will have in their new website currently under construction.
