Easy to wear...
The goat is a lot more supple (out of the box) than the HH, Dubow fit is more roomy and comfy then the RW but that thing is as squeaky as an 80 year old hinge. Great jacket when it comes to fit or drape or whatever, but for some reason I can't get the damn thing to stop acting like Micky Mouse with Tourette's.
Been thinking about giving it an Aceton rub and re-dye the jacket, but haven't had the heart to do it yet.

But, I've come to love the RW HH.
Fit's just great, is supple now, I kinda like the more snug fit, both torso and sleeves and yes I know, it's no JC or Eastman, but when wearing it, it just feels right!

Ritchy... That's a tricky question, as it all comes down to personal preference.

Oh... and both are mid brown!

Thank you so much Peter.
You are right, it will be my choice, but this is the whole opportunity of this VLJ relationship to have your opinion and make me mine.

It is my belief that 5 star is purely Chrome tanned. However they use top grain leather as opposed to full grain leather. If they used full grain leather instead their leather would really pop. I don’t know the difference the cost would be for them to use full grain but I would pay for the difference. Vegetable tanned leather takes 6-8 weeks to tan. Chome tanned takes about 3 days. So there is a huge difference in price of the two leathers just on the tanning process alone. That’s why five star and others jackets are so cheap.
Now if Shawn would commit to using full grain leather chrome tanned he would have a real winner. Even if he had to up his prices by 100 dollars a jacket.

AGREE the best is to ask him Quite sure that he will gladly answer... Another important thing in the tanning process... When the hides are drummed the grain will pop up....

I have asked him about full grain. I’ll see if he will reply. I am going to buy a monarch the end of August when I retire. I’ll see if he will do it. It would be the first full grain fully chrome tanned A2 jacket since the end of production in 1943.
