From the seller's description:
"..the jacket was likely sent back to aero in the us to have the knits replaced during wwll. yes, the knits are period correct, not post war or reproduction knit elements."

I am not sure I agree with the above - the knit elements look quite new compared to the rest of the jacket.

I'm wondering Lorenzo (I know exactly what you mean btw, I agree) but could it be that the popping red colour makes them look newer than they actually are?
