Balmain leather jacket

Hi Guys
Please could u give me advice. I was given this jacket as a payment as the guy had no cash. He said he bought it in New York for $4000. I would like to sell it, what do u think its worth. Its is very heavy and the leather is so soft. There is 1 catch, it did not fit me so i cut out the inside (yes i was drunk!) how stupid.... But if i wear it, it still sits amazing, i dont really want to sell it but i have to. Any ideas would be great on price and where i can sell it!

this is not the kind of jacket people over here in this particular forum are after.

You might consider to place it on EBAY or any other auction resp. selling platform.

Just from the outside the jacket doesn't even look like real leather to me.

Yeah i saw the "fleshside" as well which gives away it is genuine leather. Anyway something looks off with the leather - maybe the GRAINING is too dominant.

Well there have been companies embossing leather to get a certain surface/graining maybe that’s the case with your jacket as well???

Don't wanna burst a bubble but i think the jacket is drastically overpayed.

If it'as a real Balmain, the price is not correlated to the quality.

On the subject if elephants penis and working in the print industry I won a contract for a London based luxury yacht brokers brochure - one such ship/boat therein was formerly owned by Aristotle Onassis - on which the seats of bar stools were covered….in whale foreskins!! All a bit off topic for VLJ I know!!!

Just one final comment …. I would find the guy who gave me this jacket and told me that it was worth 4K and show him these responses. Then I’d give him the jacket back and demand what he owned me, less the cost of the lining of course!!
