He's excellent Steve.

In recent years he's been heavily involved with Red Kite Books and their terrific Battle of Britain Combat Archive series which I thoroughly recommend.

Reminds me somewhat of the work of Roy Cross who produced lots of work for Airfix.

I used to collect Commando, War Picture Library, Air Ace etc comics when I was a kid (regretfully, I lost my entire collection, and originals are currently worth some $) One of the cover artists whose work I loved the most was Pino Dell'Orco

These comics were, as they say, the bees knees. You can get Commando Comics from comic stores (idk about the US, but you can get them here in New Zealand), as they've reprinted the entire catalogue. Air Ace, War Picture Library, Battler Briton etc are all out of print though.
