Popped into the IWM in London today and lo! They had a number of AVI's Bronco A-2s on display and in stock.
They need to get a M-422A and a D-1 in there.

They looked great! Im not sure if these have been updated since I received mine a couple of years ago.
Pattern actually looks quite good.
Leathers soft, great drape (like originals) felt pretty good. Looks and feels better than my one.
Knts are new for sure. Not sure they are 100% wool, maybe, but they feel really good. Nice and taught.
Great pocket profiles.
Pity they aren't using Bronco 29191 accurate labels!!

Still recon these are one of the best budget buys out there.
If you aren't into the minute details/ high end materials or paying the big bucks for the top end jackets, look no further.

Good news ! During my visit at IWM, they were selling crappy fake with fur pilot-ish jackets.
Same here. I was quite disappointed at the IWM gift shop when we went there in 2018. Had they had these at the time, there's a chance maybe I could have talked my wife into getting one (though there was a heat wave going on in the UK/EU at the time).

That reminds me, back in the day you could try on Eastman A-2's at the IWM Duxford gift shop.
Correct and I bought an M422a back in 2004 ish. I remember telling the ticket clerk I not here for the museum but for the Eastman Jackets they had in the shop. A few radio calls later I was picked in a Willis jeep that drove me to the shop entry fee waived. Great.

Not longer afterwards they were selling them at the IWM in Manchester but it didn’t last long.

Whilst the try on helped select the right size, I recall the hide was heavy ish and very thick and had a board like feel, not like the AVI versions I have that are light weight and very supple from new.
