I was fortunate to get a pair direct from the vendor. Externally they are a great look and well finished. Wore them in for a couple of days around Las Vegas and on the drive to the airport. Sadly, some internal stitching on the back of the uppers ran out during the build stage and the external stitching came free with normal wear. The outer thread had nothing behind it to secure it until the box stitching at the start of the tongue. I was heartbroken. I bided my time until I could get to my father's leather working kit. I then attached some backing stitching to the secure stuff further up. I then hand stitched the outer thread back in through the loops and rectified the issue over the inch or so of free thread. Aside from that they are 100% spot on. I got some polish into the reworked thread and darkened the white cotton and the rest of the boots. I look forward to getting the boots and the USMC Khakis together when we finally get to Sydney.

I am sure they would have been replaced. Shipping both ways for the boot(s) would have offset any saving by getting them in person while in Los Angeles. I will wear these ones out, or buy another pair when I scuff these to the point my OCD demands a flawless pair for a dress uniform! GREAT Boots!!

Got to wear my USMC Cordovan shoes through a simulated combat zone today. Liverpool in Sydney's west. The shoes are starting to break in nicely. And I love the look and support of the design. I am not sure if I would do PT in them though? Old Carl Lipton (Don Walberg) running out the door in shirt, shorts and boots still makes shudder. And my feet are getting used to wearing shoes most of the time as well. Toes are starting to freeze? And have to do something called 'daylight savings' tonight. A new concept to a Queenslander of seven years....

I still love my WWII USMC cordovans. They are on their second soul and heal but they are great. My favorite shoe period. I like them even better than my Alden Indy's...
