I have contact details now and should have sent them on if I've not got back to you let me know.
I've also asked him to check pit to pit again.

Just speed-read through it...

First conclusion: We have lost a lot of the frequent guys and some interesting characters during the last years...

Second conclusion: Neither Aces High nor A.M. seem to have made it in the end...

Third conclusion: No winners here...not the acting guys, not the forum...

I remember not so long reading the whole thread it's almost like a book.
At least John did actually make jackets where as AM didn't.

And the unbelievable part was the bloodline of the sheep.

Yep, I’d heard the Reader’s Digest version, but I just went through it as well. I had to laugh (bitterly) at the people saying “competition’s good for the market” and “there’s room for both!” The most ridiculous was the one who commented (correctly) that this is a very niche market, but seemed to think that meant both jacket makers would be fine. Stanier’s comment toward the end about the folly of it all was absolutely on point.

Wow. Just, wow.

What a soap opera. Many comments could be made, but it would be mere shadow-boxing at this late date.

It caused one hell of a shitfight Chandler. I was a member but didn't post terribly much back then but even I remember that thread, there was some dust flying around that one!

As someone said earlier , there were no winners in that shit storm , only losers. All of the players on both sides are gone and the forum lost a good jacket maker as well . Looking back years later you shake your head and think what a waste. Unfortunately, I don’t think much was learned from the whole thing . You still have jacket makers here on this forum today talking crap about other makers products, instead of simply promoting their own products . Sure, it’s normal in the outside business world, but I think if you’re on this forum and you’re selling a product , then sell it and let others do the same with their products . In the end you only make yourself look bad, by bad mouthing or trying to undercut the other guy. Just my opinion .

There are patterns ready to go just no suitable materials anywhere to make jackets. This is what I hear from the the people involved as I know them.
I think JC would confirm that it is economically unviable to buy small quantities of sheepskin with very precise specifications.
This is the problem AH had when Fenland closed, simply no sources of skins at reasonable prices.
