This jacket is listed as WWII bomber leather etc etc generic garbage, any idea why its getting bid up so high? It looks like some sort of weird commercial A1. It’s clearly old, but I have no idea what it actually is.

I would guess that the seller, or seller's advocates, are bidding to push the price up.

If you follow it to completion, you'll probably see it pulled just before the auction's end.

Unless some fool gets sucked in, of course. It's definitely no issue WW2 jacket, and the artwork is weird (opinion of a retired art director, FWIW).

He's hoping some idiot will fall for it and that he'll make a quick buck.

As a sidenote, theres an a2 being sold by the same seller, anyone know the maker? And what bomb group or squadron is it patched up too? The nametag on it is LM Rudolph, Bombardier.

The offered a-2 is a redyed civy model. The art work on the other appears to be a contemporary rendition “art decoish” style, sorta, kinda…imo

Whether it’s actually an airman’s jacket I don’t know, but it certainly looks like a genuine early American (obviously civilian) leather jacket. I wouldn’t be so quick to write off the artwork on the back as modern either. There’s a very strong market for vintage American clothing, particularly early/mid 20th century sports jackets. Yes there are some obvious duds out there, but there’s also a lot of good stuff that turns up on eBay.
