Rare contract and will most likely sell for the price of a top notch Buzz repro. Not bad shape for a rare contract and ever rarer original size. ;)

Temptation overcome! Thanks for the heads-up!

I have an example of this contract. Along with the L.W. Foster and Marshall Clothing jackets they're among the rarest of the orange-lined L-2Bs.

So they are, and now you've reminded me of the one that got away ... that previously unrecorded, spec. 7448 by Great Lakes Garment Mfg. Co.

Shoulda bought that.

Yes, I too was eyeing that particular jacket. That is until I got a look at it's length! It might be nice but I already have a one of these similar length L2-Bs sporting a 22.5" body length. If it was not for the fact that mine is an X-large for me it would never work with anything but a flight suit. That is unless you like wearing your jackets riding above the belt. This happens in spite of the fact that when I wear this L2-B jacket my jeans must be pulled up as just as high as possible.

This fact has convinced me to look for those more rare longer bodied L2-B jackets.

Cheers,

I would have tried to, had it not been so small. :(

I'd forgotten the size, so after reading your post, I found my picture of the label. Size 38 ... interesting, an L-2B that pre-dates the change to Medium.

... and great patches. :)

Yes, that was a rare bird indeed. If memory serves the seller was local. If I'd heard about it before he listed on Ebay there might have been a chance at a deal--one of you guys could have been a very happy camper!

Yes it went for a good price. If I wasn't tied up all weekend with that "estateroadshow" auction on the old greedBay, I would have bid on it.

Nice jacket.
