Through my association with the American Fighter Aces Association over years, I have had numerous meetings and conversations with ace Willis Hardy. He still has his Korean War era G-1 which has his WWII VF-17 squadron patch on it. He told me that on more than one occasion that someone has wanted him to remove the patch and sell it to them. He has refused up to this point.
