Yessss.... I have obeyed the voice and just done so...o_O

Found a Platon Dubow in my size...

@Sideslip Woah! slow down a little there!
Going too deep too fast might not be good for your health! ;)

But joking aside, I'd caution you to take a little more time for your tastes to develop.
I'd hazard, from experience, that if you make too many moves before you've given some time for your true tastes to set, you may end up with jackets you regret buying.
Don't be too hasty to build a skyscraper till the foundation is solid!

Oh, I don't know, Wei. That year-long wait seems like enough time for sideslip's tastes to develop. ;)

All true but we do know a Platon Dubow should move on again easy enough if you need wardrobe space. Patience is a virtue etc and as some of us know ordering just before a pandemic can really test your confidence. Does make you appreciate the jacket all the more when it actually arrives though:D

Have an idea of what I want, but still working my way through the Forum archives, looking at the ELC A-2 manual etc. Will post on the relevant thread once I have a good view. The Platon was found via Facebook, quick deal/price... helps to understand the shape. I would have been happier purchasing via the Forum, but have not hit the 90 day mark for the Buy/Sell/WTB - which is a good thing to your and @MaydayWei 's comment about patience. I also have to budget for all of this! FWIW, my last foray into A-2's was in the late '80's in Japan. There was an awesome place in Shinjuku (I don't know if Buzz Rickson existed then, but it was chock full of various types of A-2s), but I don't have any of those now and too small. I think my sister has my genesis jacket, which was an A-2 from Banana Republic in 1987 when they still did safari/military type gear. May try to see if I can find that for my son and as practice to see what they based that jacket on.

In the meantime, really enjoying the GW M422 which now has about 5 hours of flight time and some character starting to develop.
