This is such a slippery slope… I may be in freefall.

OK ! you hurtle down the slope. :D
So the procedure is quite simple : You're sending John Chapman $ 200 right now ...

And then let yourself be rocked by this forum ... o_O

... and in a while, when the temptation for an A-2 Goodwear jacket is too strong (you don't know it yet but that moment will come), John will contact you to give him your measurements.
Simple and efficient

even though the book has an error or two, some broad categorizations, and some omissions [recent pre war a-2 discoveries], it is a must have for a-2 "enthusiasts". my copy is already beginning to get a bit dog eared and battered from usage. Gary dun gud

Yup, agreed. The book's frequently wrong about things like what zippers were used, but it's still an absolute gold mine of information. To take just one example, Gary single-handedly ended what had been a raging debate about whether cowhide was used. It really is a must-have reference book.

Now follow Kermit's advice, get on the Good Wear wait list, and have fun mulling over ideas while you wait! :D

That's exactly the tortuous path that many a lost soul in this forum have followed, yours truly included. I am sure more will follow.....

Wait, if I resist, am I resisting the dark side of the Forum or the light side? Actually, that makes things more complicated, I will just focus on learning more about jackets!

@Kermit3D @mulceber @Lorenzol you are not making this easy! And it looks like many of you have put the $200 down so I would be waaaaay at the back of the line.

Resistance is futile, as I painfully learned myself.

It's an excellent reference book, although more information has come to light since it was published. I would still recommend it!
