Funny, now that l think of it, back in the 1980s+-, someone was making repro cords. Ouch, woof, woof. At a distance you were wtf?, but at closer inspection they looked like……..replicas, shitty replicas at that.

Weren't they smaller than the originals, too?

I remember these too, but I can't recall what frame they were on.

They are a terrific machine but if I was after a mid to late 30s American glamorous droptop and I had the car buying budget of Ralph Lauren or Jay Leno, then the Cord would get pipped every single time by an Auburn boattail speedster.

That might just be me though.

Auburn, Cord & Duesenberg came from the same factory in Indiana -- the choice of one or the other is true aesthetics. The Cord being a little more subtle and less flashy, of course. ;)

the Auburn, Cord, Desi museum in Auburn Indiana is terrific. AMAZING cars - well worth a visit.
