I don't know what you mean about "The best" but IMO the Eastmans "look" better. I don't own either but someday I plan to get some of both. I hear that the quality of knits are better on the Aeros.
Having handled both over the years I personally would always go for Eastman especially their A-2's, B-10's, shearling and USN jackets which are IMO more true to the originals. I can't comment on the Irvins as I have only seen the Eastman and John Lever's recent Aero jacket sure looks good.....now how long before someone adds the word 'Goodwear' to this topic
goodwear i have a goodwear star sportswear and what can i say , ive seen some aeros and they were great but also ive seen some that didnt look very authentic at all. likewise eastman are good but not keen on the hides..
I've never owned either, but based solely on the hundreds of photos I've seen of forum members wearing Eastmans and Aeros , the Eastmans always look closer to the real thing to me. Assuming that's what you're after. When worn, the Aeros almost always look like they're cut too short in the front.
OK guys I currently have a Buzz Rickson A2, Goodwear, Aero, The Few, and have had RMNZ and Eastman. Best Goodwear and The Few. Eastman is going to run you about what a Goodwear runs (unless you are in the UK then Eastman is local for you). Had the choice and I have I go with Goodwear. The Few while good are just so darn expensive new. Just my two cents and a lot of years of buying and wearing repros and comparing them to the real deal.
