Aero B-6 Questions

Hello! Long-time reader here, but I'm finally ready to make a purchase.

I initially had my heart set on an Irvin, but living in the South UK, I just don’t see myself wearing it often. As a result, I think I’m now settled on a B-6, though I’m still a bit hesitant.

The two shearlings it comes in are Redskin and Seal. While I find the Seal too dark for my liking, I’m unsure about the Redskin—I'm having trouble gauging just how red it actually is. I’ve found a few second-hand Aero B-6 Redskins, but the redness seems to vary quite a bit (pictures attatched). Is this due to patina changes over time, differences in manufacturing, or simply the result of varying camera quality?

As for trim, I’m leaning toward russet or seal. I’m not a big fan of strong contrast, so I’d prefer something subtler and wouldn’t go for anything darker.

Any thoughts or opinions would be greatly appreciated!

I second Micawber's advice!
Living in Austria and owning both types, I have to report that I am wearing the Irvin more often than the B-6.
if it's warmer, you can get along wearing a thin shirt underneath, in colder weather, just add a sweater and you are set.

basically I consider Irvins to be more versatile than their American brethren thanks to the zips in the sleeves and the waist adjustment via belt.
when you leave the sleeve zips open, do not zip the Irvin fully up and also don't shut the waist too tight with the belt, it's a great jacket for "warmer" weather too.
that's the reason why my B-6 gets not the airtime it would deserve.
The Irvin had developed into one of my daily beaters during the colder season here...

The colour in this picture is pretty close to reality.

I find Seal a little more boring, but it may be more suitable for everyday use.
But I wouldn't tick off the Aero Irvin. I don't find it any thicker than the B-6 or D-1.

The red tone looks pretty good to me for sure and compared to seal more interesting anyway.

The jacket looks spot on on you Karsten - but to look as cool as you someone would need your physique for sure ... :)

I think i would go with seal for authenticity reasons but do not have a picture in mind off how dark the AERO seal-tone is???

Anyone able to provide a photo???
