An Irvin B. C series! I used to have one of those, one of my favourites. And it’s one of these (post #8 onwards).

New (or nearly so) Irvin Foster G-1

This is what appears to be an unissued Irvin B. Foster Spec. MIL-J-7823C G-1. The contract no. is DSA-10003081. The only exception to the condition is the bottom of the zipper which appears to have the wear normlly seen on much used jackets. There is no size tag on the inside of either pocket...

That is a really nice 7823C Burt. That's in lovely condition and proves the point you've made before that these jackets are out there and worth looking for. Chapeau !

Those are rib rack knits I believe .

I have a Ralph Edwards C which is also 1965 and it's interesting to note that the Foster has rib rack (double ply) and the RE has single ply. So I'm just wondering at the variance of government specifications in the same year.

I guess it has to due with materials that had been contracted for. The jacket makers used what they received from the knit makers.
