Watching all the absurdly high-selling groups and thinks his is worth the same regardless of contract, provenance, etc. Common in every corner of collecting nowadays IMO.
I found a Stickley chair in an antique store about 15 yrs ago. Looked like it fell off a truck and had then sat in a room of hungry mice for a year. It was about a 3 out of 10. Sure enough, checking the "collectors price book" on Mission furniture, it was priced at the 10 out of 10 going price.
Off topic(even more) I saw a headline yesterday that people are expecting "McMansion" amenities in their downsized homes.
Everyone is deserving of the best and everybody has a treasure!
Just ranting again,

The buy it now is currently $2,700. I simply asked a question without any real interest, and was offered the jacket for a $2,250 Buy it Now. I guess the seller wants it gone today!
Honestly a painted jacket with a photo of the guy wearing it is fairly tough to find. In my quick look at the jacket, it appears to be the same as the one in the photo. Even though this one is somewhat basic, and to a transport pilot, I don't think it is grossly overpriced. My opinion of course ;)

Which Stickley was responsible for the chair? I'm not really a mission enthusiast, but doesn't Gustav's early work make the big money rather than Leopold & John George with Albert and Charles bringing up the rear?
Do you still have the chair?

Ian, I hope my rant doesn't derail the thread. I didn't buy the chair and I did research the stuff back then - don't remember the details. Sure there are differences that effect value but my point was that this seller had the right item but in the wrong condition. Nonetheless, he/she expected the 10/10 price.
Kinda wish I had bought it now.

Wow! I guess provenance counts for more than I would have guessed. I guess I'm too much of a gearhead. I just mostly value condition, rarity of contract, etc. But I guess anybody who survived that many hours in the air during wartime deserves all the reverence there is!
