55J14 Prototype?

I believe that Jeff nailed it about the possible star or Forster 55j24 [aer] being a prototype. no, they do not have "experimental" or other designations as seen on cloth jackets , but neither did early a-2s that were prototypes.

Interesting indeed, can you post any labels of USN flight jackets - test/prototype how these look in comparison with a contract jackets. Seeing a genuine test example would be fantastic.

Late 40s/early 50s straight pullers of Conmar zipper also should indicate a civilian destination - not test or prototype jacket.
This is the part that makes these plain label Fosters and Stars a bit off. The FECs had straight puller Talons and the fake conract number on the label. It seems a bit weird that the straight puller Conmar and plain label happens on 2 contracts. It's a mystery 50/50 chance prototype or PX jacket with another 50% maybe some officer special or award jacket or whatever. We need paperwork or ads or something...
