1940’s (?) jacket ID help

Glad to hear I wouldn't be committing crimes against vintage clothes! I think I should be fine as far as space, I'm wearing a pretty thick sweater in the pic and it was still quite roomy. I'm thinking maybe a nice heavy flannel - would be warm and soft, and is exactly my vibe fashion-wise. but I'll see what the tailor recommends

I like your thinking, it is going to be a nice jacket once you have had the work carried out. Don't forget to have the label swapped over or at least removed and stored carefully.

You may not be aware that there are established members here that undertake very high quality renovation work on leather jackets that you might like to consider...

Nothing to add other than to say that @jellybean 's jacket is a fantastic piece. I can't wait to see it restored and I hope that she decides to stick around and share photos of it afterwards. We need a few more ladies around here on VLJ. Especially those with such a cool and unique fashion sense.
