WW2 US Schwinn DX pushbike

Thanks for the link, but I'm not aware of this style of bike. According to the experts on the bicycle forums, the only manufacturers of WWII issue American bikes were Columbia and Huffman. This was probably a civilian bike that was painted for military use. However, if I did win the bid, the shipping from down under would probably be a bit expensive.

According to this website Schwinn produced for the Army and Navy between 1942 and 45 so it could well be right.

The blurb about coming out of an old warehouse might be ok but that would have been a long time ago as most of those old wharves came down in the eighties but were in constant use since the War so they were never deserted so it's unlikely old gear was left behind. It does sound good though!

Here's a pretty good site for military bikes and this one looks a lot like some of those pics. It seems like a steep opening price but then I suppose it is pretty rare.

It probably would cost quite a bit to ship but i did say really keen or just crazy ;)
