It's bloody pissing down here though although I shouldn't complain because if it was 6/7 degrees cooler I'd be outside now swearing my head off whilst shovelling snow

That's pretty much like here. We're further north than you but we're on the coast so milder temps, but all in all it probably evens itself out

One of the nice things now here (inside the Arctic Circle) is that it's taking longer and longer for full night darkness to hit.
