Gable was assigned to the 351st BG to make a film about aerial gunnery. Not sure why he is wearing a 2nd BG jacket. I believe he did fly 5 combat missions as a gunner and earned the Air Medal and DFC. Here is another photo with newer jacket and patch.

Yes, two different jackets....and patches...the look at backgrounds on the patches...and the details...the picture with the film in his hands is the later version of this design.
