Were would you find cloth block letters for caps

I agree with Dave, less time is involved in making them, than the time you would spend trying to find them. And when you do find them, who knows if the fabric content will be what you want it to be!

Some of the material/sewing shops have lettering ,also some Wal Marts, but not sure if they'll have size/type you're needing but you may want to try those .

Yes but I think I am going to add O2 snaps as suggested here. Someone in Germany asked about it but I have yet to check shipping. It's getting pricey to ship overseas!

Hi,
You can never have cloth block letters on a cap, here is my personal favourite! Would love one of these.

All the best

I dare say you won't find wool felt letters in the variety you want. Most felt isn't even wool anymore and I just don't think the synthetic looks right. It takes quite a bit more effort to make something that will look and wear like such an original.
I hope to make a few similar lined caps once I find the correct kind of gabardine (that's what killed the B-1). The time to make and attach such letters though would be quite costly.
Awesome cap, BTW.

I just purchased 100% wool felt on Etsy for some WW1 Squadron patches, a little pricey but every color you could want and in several pre-cut size selections. Also, I have a bunch of nice thick period wool felt in a nice blue. My leather tools and techniques work nicely on felt so I may just create an Ebay listing for this service. Lettering only, no sewing unless it was the actual letters with a border or something.

I think the letters might have been sewn in place then cut. Sounds odd but looks that way and would be easier IMO.

Please explain Dave, maybe I'm misunderstanding, but the thought of it is blowing my mind :?:

Some areas look as if a letter were drawn on felt, quickly stitched down, then trimmed inside the drawn lines. The unevenness of the letters on the sides could be caused by either this or individual attachment. Letters could be done this same way but individually. I would think this could be done with patches too. Naturally we expect more accuracy than flyers did.
Just thinking out loud.
