Gents,
Here are a few pics of my latest endeavor. I have recently purchased a new double needle sewing machine with a post bed. This is required for a lot of military jacket from that period. SO, as a first effort, I created a pattern for the S.A.A.D. type D-1, pre-war jacket. Starting with a base D-1 pattern from JC, I was off and running.
This is a test jacket and utilizes a different sheepskin than I will be using in the future. Sizing on these jackets is very loosely based on the S, M, L sizing. This equates to a 38-40 (S), 42-44 (M) and 46-48 (L). This jacket is a size M.
Big thanks to a2jp for getting me in touch with his stamp maker, to help me make the stamps for the back of the collar disc....anyway, I know... PICS!
