Some oversized CBI theatre patches

The CBI seemed to have some of the largest patches - here are three whoppers I've been working on recently.

First up the 4th BS (Provisional), CACW. 5 inch disk, 7.5 inches in total and a complete nightmare to cut and assemble.

45th BS, 40th BG. Again a 5 inch disk, 7 inches at its widest point (still to be stitched).

1st Air Commando Gp. A monster 6 inch disk (again awaiting stitching).

Finally finished sewing these - I've a backlog of 20+ patches awaiting sewing which I do by hand. It's much slower than machine but I have more control and can do it watching TV / YouTube in the evening, so a lot less boring than sitting at a machine for hours.

I decided to add the 1000 lbs legend to the bomb as seen on a number of originals - just adds a bit more interest to the patch.

And here's one more biggie, the 44th BS, 40th BG a sister squadron to the 45th BS.
