Just for shits 'n giggles, here is my sz 46 Few B-2,

and an original sz 44 for comparison.....

I had wondered why the pockets were always missing. The book, Full Gear, shows WAR DEPARTMENT TECHNICAL ORDER No. 13-1-4 (May 24, 1934).

This calls for the removal of breast pockets on B-1's, B-2's, and type A-4 Summer flying suits. So it was an official MOD, like the removal of the mouton collars.

Is that older beauty yours too Bevan? Is the 44 much smaller?

I bought the original of ebay on behalf of The Few/RMNZ.

It was from this jacket that the pattern for the Few B-1 / 2 jackets came from.

I could wear the original but it was very snug.

I wonder how many originals are left ? I know LW has one .
The pocket removal kills the look IMO.

Be easier, if orders came with explanations.

I guess that under a harness, the pocket didn't work, and so it was repositioned on the B-3.
