i forget to notice on the photo with guys reading Yanks; did you remark the english version of patch ?

I definitely saw that but I couldn't figure out why they were over the left pocket. From what I usually saw, those types of wings were worn over the right pocket for airmen who had previously volunteered for the RAF. They look like air gunner wings but I can't see the letters in the center piece to confirm that.
