No idea about this Spiewak & Sons- help?

I picked up this A2 as it looked great and in my size and perfect for an upcoming reenactment. But I know virtually nothing about it and neither did the seller.

Someone obviously went to some length with these patches (or could it perhaps have been from the manufacturer?) At first, I thought the rough circular cutouts meant that it was very amateurish, but then upon inspecting real ones I realized this was rather par for the course. Overall I love this jacket but I would love to learn more about it. I just looked up some information about Spiewak (this is the first time I think I’ve even heard of them) but I still know very little, especially anything post-war. Thanks!

This is Spiewak reproduction, probably somewhere between say, 1995-2005. Spiewak was one of the original A-2 manufacturers with one contract. This is like the Cooper A-2 and their A-2s in the 1980s where the companies existed and made WWII A-2s, and then made them again when they became popular 40-50 years later. Neither of the later jackets are very close to the originals.

You can find more info at www.spiewak.com.

Thanks. Do you have any idea if the patches were applied by the owner or the company? I’ll look in a sec at the site but I don’t think they make these anymore.

These photos would look so much better in full image mode … thumbnails are hard to see as they don’t seem to load properly.

The manufacturer did not "embellish" the jacket with the patches--it would have been an owner.

I wonder if it’s a browsing on mobile thing. When I’m looking at them here on my phone they look really low resolution, unless I wait a very long time and then the sharp versions come in.
