NEW J-21 Pattern complete, First Customer Jacket

Gents,

Just finished re-drafting my patterns for the J-21 to 24 type jackets by Buco, and here is the first exemplar....

This is a customer jacket, and as such is NOT for sale.

This is a 3 oz (1 to 1.1mm) Chrome tanned hide with veg retan. In basic black of course. All zippers are period
originals from both Prentice and Talon. (Yes Prentice were indeed used on the early post war jackets by this maker.)
These zip types can be seen mixed with some Conmar zippers as well on originals. Buco seems to have pretty well
gone with the Talons around 1950 or so.

Details include a custom made veg tanned belt with proper Buco marking to the back. Solid Brass nickel plated center bar buckle completes it.

Oh my lord this is incredible. Well done indeed, Dave!!

Do you have the earlier cursive "Buco Product" label for your J21 and 22?

Ack! I wish, those proper satin labels are hella expensive! Probably will go for them soon though!

Beyond spectacular. :D  :!:

Bill Kelso, if you are watching, this is what your customers want. Can you imagine this in your Victory Hide on a model next to the ancient ruins? Oh yeah!

First I must congratulate Dave. Amazing jacket. Who is the lucky owner?
(Also Dave, you made me curious to see your union label).

Bill Kelso will not be making any Buco jackets for the foreseeable future. But since I am BK's new styles developer, if you have any special requests, shoot.

Thank you I guess, but why on God's Green earth would it matter to you who the customer was? And why would I tell you?

Beautiful work, Dave. That is a piece of art, a sculpture in black leather. I certainly hope the owner lets us see some pics with with him in it.
