MA-2??

I doubt it. I've never heard of an MA-2, either.

The tag is difficult to read, but it should have a DSA number and it appears not to. Also the stock number on the tag begins with "MA" which, if authentic, would be something I've never seen.

Commercial copy made of flammable/melting nylon instead of heat resistant nomex. MA-2 just a marketing trick; successor to the MA1 must be an MA2, right? Not made for the military.

Think I saw that many moons ago in a Cockpit catalog and remember the pocket flaps in particular. Navy rings a bell, I really liked it a lot but never ended up buying one because I was a broke teenager at the time. Can't say for sure if the jacket in the cat was this one, but I'd bet a buck that it was.
