...for the smaller guys.
Gents,
Since my test jackets are normally larger sizes, 44, 46 or 48, and since I needed to test a new pattern anyway... I give you the size 40 J.A. Dubow! This is from the last part of the 23379 contract. This is the contract during which the Army decided to drop the collar stand, and gave the individual makers the choice to do so or not. Dubow decided to do just that, though other makers such as Rough Wear continued to make collar stand jackets throughout. Therefore jackets with this contract can be seen in both variations. I will be offering both as well, but before grading the pattern, I wanted to make sure that it works...and it does. This contract is also unique in that it has a separate "Property Warning" with the sizing information integrated into it. This was another insistence by the US Army Air Forces.
The jacket is made of a format of domestic cowhide that we will not be using, and is a semi aniline in the standard .9mm thickness. I am not even sure where I got this leather but it really is pretty amazing looking IMHO. This is a chrome tanned semi aniline just like originals of this contract.
Measurements are as follows...
Size 40
Pit to Pit Front-21"
Pit to Pit Back- 21.5
Shoulder-17.5"
Front Length-22.5"
Back Length-24.75"
Sleeve-24.75"
Asking $749.00 on FB but the VLJ price is
$649.00 Shipped in the lower 48
Actual shipping to the rest of the world.
