Issued G-1 pit to pit vs. waist

I am toying with buying an original G-1 again (I "need" it to go with my JKF Saratoga sunglasses!!!!!) The last time I had G-1's they were 44's 46's. I'm a bit smaller now but they generally run small-ish. I seem to recall more taper from chest to waist. do you recall how much? I know its going to vary from contract to contact. I just remember previously how some jackets "my size" fit great, others not. definitely all round more taper than an A-2 thanks

My Ralph Edwards "C" size 46 is 24 1/2" at pits and 21" at waist. Definite taper.

My old Brill and Star have a definite taper but my Orchard doesn't for some reason....
I guess it depends on the maker and the era it was made in

lucky you're not shopping for a high end repro...they tend to keep their waist measurements confidential

I think I found one that will work, found/purchaed on Etsy. I have never been tempted by a repro G-1 as originals or so plentiful. Not saying there aren't great repros out there.

Unfortunately not so plentiful in UK/Europe

In Australia they are like rocking horse droppings.....so much that "mall jackets" go for the prices real ones command
