GW 1939 Werber

Roughwear

The 1933 Werber has a leather reinforcement strip running the entire length of the zip tape on the inside, which is not a feature on the '39 Werber. The '39 jacket does not have the top stitching on the cuffs which the 33 jacket has. The pocket flaps on the '33 Werber are pointed on the surviving examples that I have seen, but more rounded on the 39 Werber. Caramel knits were used on the '33 jacket, but on the '39 A2 they were a mid brown shade. On the 33 Werber the epaulets have a single line of stitching but the more familiar double stitch lines are on the later model. The differences between the zips have already been mentioned. Both are great jackets and I think John's 39 Werber is spot on and looking even better now that it is broken in.
