I would say that a GW is far superior to a LW.or he is trying to pass it as a LW because as everybody knows LW are better than GW, more robust !

Well I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt now he’s put a question mark after Lost Worlds. Has anyone told him it’s a Goodwear?
Yes, I probably would and more accurate.would you say it's more robust?
more durable?
great that you told him, now he can ask an additional $500 for it
congrats
Just for the heck of it I contacted the seller via the OP on ebay. The jacket was sold. The hunt for ever elusive used Good Wear continues.Gents,
This guy is the fourth owner of this jacket. It has not aged all that much since it was first sold as a “combat clone”, and the jacket is made of steerhide.
Check out the original pics on JC’s website here:

Thanks for the info. I love studying this stuff. Don't know what I will do if I ever actually find one. I think I like the ones that are broken in naturally as well.Combat clone is GW's take on ageing the jacket to make it look more vintage much in the same way ELC do with their 'time worn' jackets! If you look at the Dubow repro you'll note the seams and certain areas have been sanded literally I think, to age a new jacket. Many here agree there's nothing better though than really wearing your jacket here there and everywhere to rough it up! Much like the hot water treatment I've personally never had the b***s to attempt it!! Avirex did something similar years back and which I'm sure convinces the person on the street they might have an original/ vintage jacket - yes they might have been made in the late 80's/90's but vintage they ain't!!!
Good Wear Leather jackets come up comparatively often in size 46 (John’s size and hence most commonly used for test jackets), but often sell quickly.
It pays to have funds set aside in readiness to do a quick deal if you can...
