Funky Zipper Stop?

First, I want to point out the photo used here is from Aero Leather''s website (detail shot of AL's Aero 16160). If posting such a photo is contrary to the rules here, I apologize in advance. Now, I've got a LONG way to go before I can attain the rank of Thread-Counter so please don't laugh. I've been reading a lot about zippers lately, but I can't find another zipper stop like the one in the photo. What iteration is that? It almost looks like a C stop that was installed in the manner of a modern stop. Would it have been an intermediate improvement to the conventional C stop?

Yep, it’s one of the c-stops, but the jacket maker didn’t know what (s)he was doing and installed the stop sideways.

Not big deal unless it stop the slider! and a good way to recognise the jacket !

Ok. So it's just a boo-boo then and not something I missed in the historical progression of zipper stops.

It's an error. The problem is that the slider will not ride up onto the stops like it is designed to do. It's not just for looks.
