Enjoying new " second hand" M42 Buzz Rickson type 2 service shoes on a terrasse de café, Paris . Chocolat chaud ! Lovely sunny autumn day. PS: thé vendor was kind , he had original WW2 lacets with .

Nice score, they are as hard to find as they are nice! The quality and detail on those make others look like boots for action figures....;)

Yes ! I did not tried the ATF ones from Corcoran, I think it could be the same level . Better heels ;) for BR , love this kind of detail . BTW, I saw a pair on ebay , 9.5 E too . BR , but resoled with the nice " Brian the bootmaker" https://www.ebay.fr/itm/39578477830...r-9GOK4S2i&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
And that one not BR but really cool , same vendor than mine

I don't think ATF and Buzz are not on the same level of details & quality, Even though Corcoran (Carolina shoes) knows how to make boots for sure.

For the price I could try ATF but Buzz really gets my attention for accuracy and details.

Yes , I must agree ! I just erase the "paint " from the side of the leather soles to get the leather and put a layer of Saphir cream . The one on Ebay , resolsed are great !! Love the soles and heels

Oh man, they are really nice, I love the colour. Can you post an image of the sole?

The ones on ebay are well used and too pricey, but they are a ''témoignage'' on how they age, and they age well in my book.

I just spent lots of cash on a pair of Viberg, so not too tempted to go for another expense on boots.... Hummmm...

For those that don't subscribe to the updates, this is the current state of U.S. footwear at ATF:

(all boots) Currently unavailable.

There will be no restock of US Made boots. That factory has decided to downsize and private label boots like ours will no longer be offered.

As of now (2024) we appear to be making progress with a large US boot manufacturer with production facilities overseas. If all works out, we may have high quality boots in 2025. That is all the information available.

Yes indeed , that's the last news from ATF in their newsletter : "Boots? Texled Lowboots and Jackboots should get here before the end of the year. US Boots are still awaiting final samples."

I must say that the (current or last) ATF services boots did look amazing. Is it me or the asking price went up a lot, with the quality I guess?
On the website they are super overpriced but no more avalaible . I think the next will be same price as before Corcoran decided to discountinue the production. perhaps even cheaper 'cause not made in USA , but we can be confident that the quality will be at least at the same level. I wanted to wait for , but saw the BR and decided to go for it . Perhaps I will go for the new ATF issues ! The thing I did not like , as for the jmp boots was the painted layer on the leather , but with some acetone and a little care and dyeing it could be great . I remember a thread about that : https://www.vintageleatherjackets.o...your-flight-jacket-s.20971/page-4#post-208469 .

The soles are used but they have a good amount of miles left . I just have a ... complain about the shape of the soles in general , about all the repros : jump boots , services shoes type 2 and 3 (rough out) and boondockers , I let you appreciate .On the photo the one on the left is an original ww2 resoled with Dr Sole and the right an old issue from SM Wholsale ( the new are bad imo but that one where just great ) . So you'll see the difference between the two . The OG sole is far more angular , the repro is round . That's a detail but like for the repro leather jackets , it's important to me !! :pthe other pictures are the BR soles in good condition.

Rollin changed the prices to stop people from attempting to order. Apparently they weren't paying attention to them being out of stock and then bitching about being turned down. He figured setting the prices astronomically would be a deterrent.
Wise !!! I like his caustic humour , in general in his news letter , when he respond to guys who complains about the right shade of olive for the M41s for example or SS tent camouflage , always laugh reading these mails.

I also found these ones , original Type1 resoled I believe , like the vendor says . But imo they worth the price , just my opinion . really rare . I own one pair bought 500euros .

Ah ok, I knew I saw a lower price point for those boots, sometime last year.
Don't know your size , I usualy wear 10 , 3.5 BR are fine and let enough room to had a little leather insole . Like I have read in an old thread ( 2009 !!! : https://www.vintageleatherjackets.org/threads/buzz-rickson-m-42-service-shoes.5474/ ) . I found these , 0 bid for the moment . Could be interesting ! here is the link - ( I won some times ago a bid with the "Automated bid snipping" ) : https://www.ebay.com/itm/176641292785?customid=&toolid=10050

I would probably go for Japan and new for services boots from Buzz or RMC, but thank you for the info it's appreciated.
I am also at a lull right now with acquiring new boots, I planning on having two very old pair of Iron Ranger resole this winter, one even a second resole. And I am still breaking in a new pair of Viberg 310.

But I have my mind set on finding a AN-J-3 jacket, standard collar, and that looks like it also going to cost me some bread down that road...;)
